wiki:Userland changes needed due to kernel version change

Introduction

Sometime the kernel version of a device changes, because a newer kernel becomes available.(for instance the previous kernel version was 2.6.39 and the new one is 3.1).

Changes needed

  • Xorg.conf: watch out the device nodes changes for the input.
  • alsa: shr alsa scenario may need to be re-done for the new kernel
  • Sysfs paths/ cornucopia power control plugins: that may need to be adapted or redone too.
