Meanwhile I think, that this is a e-wm issue. Can anyone else confirm this?

I think culprit is tslib.

Touchscreen worked ok after changing xorg.conf input device from tslib to evdev on /etc/X11/xorg.conf and restarting X.

I can confirm, the same problem (touchscreen did not react, 100% reproducible), the same solution (tslib => evdev).

Note that now my logs are full of messages like:

[ 1545.705000] s3c24xx-ts s3c2440-ts: stylus_irq: count=1

which I do not recall seeing before ...

is this still valid? I think it should be fixed...

from shr-devel ML:

So after a while we found the problem -> udevd installed on his fr

Check if you have udev installed -> you can uninstall it also with
udev-utils (only libudev0 is needed).

xinput --list should list only input devices from xorg.conf
which is id=8 "Touchscreen", udevd adds another id=9 "S3C24XX
TouchScreen?", but probably only if xorg.conf defines different driver
(in this case tslib).

So better fix then replacing tslib with evdev in xorg.conf is to uninstall
udevd or at least disable AutoAddDevices? in xorg.conf.

shipped xorg.conf now has AutoAddDevices? disabled..
